How long is the program?
The program is 1500 hours. The program is designed for a student to complete the 1500 hours in
9.5 months by attending 38.75 hours per week. The program extends based on the amount of time
missed by the student.

What is the class schedule?
Tuesday through Friday: 9 am – 5:30 pm, Saturday 8 am – 4:30 pm
Are students permitted to have absences?
Yes. Students are permitted to miss for funerals, surgeries, doctor’s excuses, and are provided
additional credit hours to use for absences. The handbook outlines the attendance policy.
When do students begin cutting hair?
Michael’s students begin cutting hair the second day of school. We have structured our curriculum to
maximize the time the students have hands on experience as we have learned this produces the best
hair stylists.
Are clients able to request specific students to perform services?
Yes. We believe this is one of the most critical parts our educational training. Building a clientele is such a vital part of their success. Learning how to build and maintain a network of clients, who refer their family and friends to YOU, will provide the opportunity for steady business resulting in steady income, which allows your financial freedom to align with your passion for the industry.

Yes. Michael’s College of Hair Design offers the Jack W. Moore Progressive Scholarship. Michael’s is the only cosmetology school in the area that offers scholarships.

Does the school participate in federal funding, grants, etc?
Michael’s College of Hair Design is a private school that does not participate in any federal funding.
What kind of financial assistance is provided?
Michael’s College of Hair Design has a fantastic financial program designed to fit the budget of most
